Tips for new arrivals

We all remember the excitement when we first blasted off to the moon.  Undoubtedly by now the realization that living in a two hundred year old square mile upside-down fishbowl full of stale air and stuffed to the brim with cranky people isn’t the glamorous lifestyle you were led to believe.  Sure, it’s pretty grim but with these tips it might make it a little more bearable.

Tip 1:  if you can eat it, then eat it.  For the past 195 years we’ve run out of space to store all our junk, as you can see.  We’ve found the best way to handle this is to let ol’ nature work its magic. And it helps keep you’re little 8 sq ft of heaven free of biodegradable materials.

Tip 2when digging remember to use your legs.  We do a lot of digging on the colony, and in fact that was the sole purpose of the Dark Side outpost.  Unfortunately the rationale was forgotten a century ago, but we believe when we’ll know it when we find it!.  Anyway, research shows that 3 out of 4 colonists hurt themselves on dig-duty – so use good form and stay upright.

Tip 3:  take pleasure in the little things.  From time to time, we scrape the moon dust off the dome and the view is spectacular – take time to enjoy it.  And yes, while having no privacy and being cramped up for years on end gets everyone in the fighting mood – it can actually be a fun way to let off steam.  By tradition, the colony frowns on surprise blows below the belt, but otherwise just about everything else is fair game.

Now that you are part of our community, we hope you do your part.  First step is to intro yourself right here.  Second step is to volunteer for lots of fun activities.  And if you’re lucky enough to get a ticket back, then maybe you’ll leave it a little better than you found it.
